NOTICE INVITING BIDS INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) NO. C 1324 1. BIDS The Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAWCD) Contracting Officer, Mr. John Harrison, will receive sealed Bids at 23636 North 7th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85024, for construction of the Hieroglyphic Mountain Recharge Project Storm Repairs until 1 0:00 A.M. MST on July 10,2013, the "Bid Due Date". The Bid Opening will be held in the CAWCD Board Room in Building 1. Mailed Bids should be addressed to: Mr. John Harrison, Contracting Officer Central Arizona Water Conservation District P.O. Box 43020 Phoenix, Arizona 85080-3020 Late Bids will not be considered. The Project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following items of Work: The overall work is the repair of the storm damaged recharge basins at Central Arizona Project's Hieroglyphic Mountains Recharge location. This requires major rebuilding of the basin embankments; over excavation and rebuilding the embankments where damaged; grubbing and shaping of all embankments; the relocating of a spoil pile; the clearing and grubbing of vegetation outside of the perimeter of the basin embankments. In addition, rip rap is installed on portions of the basin embankment; a reconfigured entrance and short access road is installed; new chain link fence and double-drive gate is installed to accommodate the new entrance. The project also requires removal of fine sediment from the basin bottoms. After completion of all repair work, the basin bottoms are deep ripped. 2. PROJECT COST The estimated cost range of the Project is from $200,000.00 to $400,000.00 dollars. 3. BID DOCUMENTS The Bid Documents are available for downloading at no cost at www.cap-az.com. Bid Documents may also be examined and/or obtained at CAWCD, 23636 North 7th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85024. Prospective Bidders desiring to submit Bids on this Project may obtain one (1) copy of the complete set of Bid Documents for the purpose of Bidding upon deposit of $5.00, which deposit will be refunded on return of the Bid Documents to CAWCD in good order. Additional sets of Bid Documents may be purchased for $1 00.00 per set. Return of additional sets of Bid Documents will not be accepted. Partial sets of Bid Documents will not be available. Checks shall be made out to the CENTRAL ARIZONA WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT. The Bid Documents consist of: Volume I: Part I, Invitation to Bid Documents Part II, Bid Submittal Documents Part III, Contract Documents for Hieroglyphic Repair Project. Volume II: Technical Specifications and Construction Drawings for Hieroglyphic Repair Project. 4. BID DOCUMENTS Site visits, as discussed below, will be conducted to provide prospective Bidders the opportunity to tour the construction site. Potential bidders are strongly recommended to attend. A CAWCD Representative will escort interested Prospective Bidders to the construction site on June 19, 2013. Tours will start at 8:00 A.M. Interested personnel can meet the CAWCD Representative at that time, at the meeting point. Late attendees will not have access to the site. To reach the meeting point, take 163rd Avenue north from Grand Avenue (US 60) five miles to the Central Arizona Project Canal. Continue north about one tenth of a mile and turn west on Montgomery. Proceed west one mile to the meeting point. The CAWCD representative will provide access through the CAP security fence and lead the site visit attendees to the project site. BID SECURITY A Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. 6. AWARD CAWCD reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any non-conformance, to re-advertise for Bids, and to withhold the award for any reason CAWCD determines.
